Are we really thriving for Jesus? You may say sure, I feel like I am. But, really though, are you?
That was a hard question for me to swallow. Just from personal experience I can tell you right now that I wasn’t. Flat out truth be told. That little six letter word that I’ve heard many many times wasn’t even part of my vocabulary until a couple weeks ago when God so graciously revealed that word to me with a much deeper meaning.
I’ve believed in Jesus my whole life. Since my youngest of years. Grew up in a little white church affixed on a corner in a small town. My home church holds some of my most fondest memories in the walls that hold it up.
Somewhere between here and there I seemed to have lost connection with the tether that linked between me and Jesus. A connection that only He could orchestrate to remain disconnected for the time that it was. I truly believe He needed a way to reel me back in that would bring me closer to Him once again. This was His plan.
He had me hook, line and sinker before I even had any clue.
Waking up one morning with a completely different mindset. It was perfectly clear that I knew I couldn’t do life alone. Not anymore. Not my way but His. I needed Him and His strength and His love.
He has a way of pulling His children back to Him in order for them to thrive. Its not a coincidence that He puts just the right people and just the right resources available for you right smack dab in front of your eyes. I’m so glad He uses it to His full advantage.
The imprint is still there. It will be forever engrained on my heart.
May we thrive by feeding ourselves with the nutrients to grow and prosper the same way plants would when they are watered. Plants only thrive when watered. We aren’t any different. We have to water ourselves daily in the word of God. That’s one way we can truly thrive for Jesus.
He wants each of His children to thrive. He provides a way for us to do so through His word. Be diligent. Study His word. There are so many things we may glean from doing just that.
I’m still in awe of how strategically He plans such instances, but until He reveals to you something similar.
Just…… Pray. Wait. Trust.
He will signal when he’s ready to pull you close. Just as he did with me and it often happens when you least expect it too.
